2024 marked another incredible summer of the Octavia Project Summer Institute–our 10th! Participants imagined solutions to our city’s problems inspired by biomimicry, expanded their notions of the human body through architecture, and coded interactive choose-your-own-adventure Twine computer games.

In addition to incredible individual submissions, this year we decided to highlight collaborative projects in our zine.
Guest teacher Daphne Lundi taught an urban planning workshop in which participants collaborated to write a story about New York City, and then illustrated this quilt to accompany it. Read the full story in the zine!
On a field trip to the Pratt Dye Garden, Institute participants created their own natural dyed fabric pieces using different plants from the garden.
