Sylvia Mono, a celebrated alchemist and witch, spends 23 weeks slaving over a sewing machine and cauldron, wasting at least 12 pieces of chalk perfecting her equations and formulas. On one, fateful Tuesday, she was finally done, screaming something like, "At last!"
[["Shit, wait..."->defective]]
[["All systems are a go!"->normal]]Something happened. Something went bust with the algorithms, or perhaps a spell wasn't recited properly. Maybe she missed a stitch. But something went wrong. The cloak, it... it was moving on its own. It was speaking. "Steve, get away from that thing!" Slyvia huffed, picking her hamster up and putting him in his cage.
Sylia had decided that she needed to cut her losses. She needed to dispose of the malfunctioning jacket. How the hell do you toss a talking invisible cloak?
She can't toss it through traditional methods at risk of it being traced back to her, so she...

[[Throws it in the garbage anyways.->trashed]]Sylvia looked down at her magnificent creation, grinning with a ever so slightly sinister chuckle. Her hamster squeaked and nibbled on her finger, to which she gave him generous pets. Sylvia then put him in his cage. "I'll be back soon, Steve," she said passively, as if he'd answer. She slid her arms into the sleeves of her cloak, one by one.
Slowly, her fingertips became transparent.
Then her hands.
Her arms and legs.
Limb by limb, she slowly disappeared into nothing.
At a point, all one could see was a head, mumbling, "Now is the time..."
[[The time for moons to collide!->evil]]
[[The time to reclaim life!->good]]Sylvia is... kinda nervous. She'd never think she'd finally be able to do this. Here she was, in a "Presidential" rally, in the front row of all places. She had to make a distraction in order to set her plan into action, so she...

[[Just run straight in and pray for the best.->lmaono]]Sylvia sneaks into Plant Corp, the world's leading fertilizer and pesticide distributor's headquarters in New North America's capital, Ember City. She soon realizes that she has to find a way through security, invisible or not.
[[Steal someone's security pass.->pass]]
[[Hop the turnstile like an absolute badass.->uknowimbad]]Sylvia sneaks up behind some tall man whose hair is slicked back and his navy suit is crisp and starched. As soon as one gets in his vacinity, his strong, expensive cologne is just as palpable as his overwhemingly intimidating aura. Sylvia swiftly nabs a keycard off of him, the tall man being too enthralled in his tales to notice the difference.
Sylvia then snuck over to the turnstiles, allowing herself in as the security guard was at the main desk, stuck in her infatuation with the new temp worker.
[[Now to infiltrate the building.->superspy]]Sylvia backed up until she was around 6 feet away from the turnstiles. She then sprinted to the turnstiles, planting her hand on the half wall and jumps over confidently, until she realizes that her body isn't what it once was.
She clutches her hip, landing kind of audibly but quickly dodging the security guard when she comes over. She swigs her Health Sweat- which she should've probably named something else.
[[She hobbles on forward.->superspy]]"Elevator? Nah..." She thought, remembering the 'don't take the elevator in an emergency, or when you're invisible and it'd be kinda obvious if there's empty space in the corner of a crowded elevator and someone tried to move over and knocked right into you' doctrine.
[[Time to take the stairs.->stairs]]"I've always had a thing for flames," Sylvia sighs, "never knew I'd use it to destroy the culmination of my life's work."
Walking to her fireplace, she hesitated slightly before chucking her failure into the open flame. It kind of screamed... it was shrill and...
It haunted her.
It haunted her for months.
Even when she finally started work on the next cloak, she could hear its screams.
[[HAUNTED.->birth]] Sylvia set out on a voyage, bringing Steve, her hamster with her.
The wind whipped her wool-like locks of hair against her face- she spent a fair amount of her boat ride pulling strands of hair out of her mouth. "How... tasty." She grumbled, turning to face the sailor of this small boat. "How do you do this? I've been on board half an hour and I already want out." The sailor let out a gruff chuckle before responding. "Mi grow up sailing; mi parents love it 'till they dead."
Slyvia smiled tightly, remembering how they met after the RED TRIALS; right after the public hanging of his own parents. "As a likkle boy, mi learn fi love the water- we need it to survive, no?" Sylvia nodded, ploping down on the edge of the boat.
[["Well, I never even learned how to swim."->drown]]
[["It IS a necessity to all life..."->sunk]]Despite her inhibitions, Sylvia threw the cloak out.
[[TWO DAYS LATER.->arrested]]Sylvia held her breath. "One... two... three..." She murmured. She tossed the sparkler and it flew through the air swiftly, landing square on someone's forehead and burning them. Oops.
The security guards left the podium aside from one directly in front of President Yokai. Perfect. Syvlia slinked up the stairs of the podium behind the President. Time slowed as she linked their consciousnesses via a small device she liked to call "LinkedIn," like the old website.
Anyways, [[time to start the search.->goldcodes]]Syvia feels like shes gonna puke. She should've probably let the fruit rot a little less before she did this. It's a horrendous smelling, mushy mess, balled up in her hands. "You're in too deep now. You have to throw it." This mantra repeated in her head, drowning out the thunderous, indoctrinating hymn joyfully repeated by the thousands of people in the crowd.
"New North America is the greatest,
Filled with the world's strongest and bravest,
Lead by a leader to whom we're thankful,
Protected by God and his Disiples."
Syvia launched the fruit past a security guard's head.
[["Oh no..."->lmaono]]Sylvia runs up to the podium and tries to put a device on President Yokai's temple.
Briefly, she remembers why she's doing this, as a means of hyping herself up.
How Yokai has been President for 12 years now, and how that wouldn't be legal in the old world.
How the RED TRIALS killed most educated people in New North America, even...
Her thoughts were interrupted by an attack dog, lunging at her jugular.
[[IS THIS REALLY THE END YOU CAME FOR?->birth]]Not much has changed regarding how nuclear weaponry is handled in the past couple hundred years, except its much more reckless now. President Yokai is the only person able to set off nuclear missles and bombs, and the exclusive power can't be checked by anyone.
Here they are, sitting like a nice President's day gift under the ample tree of his conscious mind. The gold codes.
The President is given this card, the biscuit, with a set of codes, but some of them are dupes to fool anyone who doesn't have the real codes memorized. Of course though, Yokai does, so its easy to extract the information faster than you can say "Dictator!"
Sylvia pulled the LinkedIn device off of Yokai's temple and slinked back off the stage, leaving him stunned. She couldn't, however, leave without the biscuit from his back pocket. Silly rabbit...

falling...
fallen.
//Splash!//
//Plop!//
Only a few bubbles surfaced whilst Sylvia struggled for her life.
She struggled against the strange current, swept far away from the boat.
After about a minute, she quit her futile struggles and just drifted through the salty ocean water. She forgot how much it burned her sinuses and her eyes.
All she could think about was her parents, and how they'll be telling her how disappointed they are in her real soon.

[[LOST AT SEA.->birth]]"We on the same page then." The captain said. This was followed by silence until they reached international waters.
"We 'ere."
Sylvia sighed, tying the cloak to cinderblocks and fastening them. "Too bad this didn't work out. You're... a liability."
"No, I'm Steve," the cloak retorted. Sylvia let out a bit of a laugh- but her smile didn't reach her eyes. "I'm sorry."
"For wh-" Sylvia dropped them over the side of the boat before they could finish. She couldn't see them sink to the bottom in the deep darkness of the night.
"I wish you well."
[[Steve the cloak swiftly sunk into the depths of the ocean.->underthesea]]Sylvia puts a small mesh bag of a butterfly pea tea into near boiling water to seep. She thinks its ironic that that's her favorite tea, chuckling to herself.
Amongst this peace- the most she's had in a long time- she hears an authoritative couple of knocks on her door, followed by a strange quiet. A stillness like no other.
She felt like she was walking through quicksand as she approached her front door, swallowing the lump in her throat and peeking through the peep hole.
Of course.
She opened the door, to immediatedly be pushed up against a wall so hard she was nearly knocked out.
"Sylvia Mono, you are under arrest for the production of illicit magical items. You have the right to remain silent..."
The thumping in her ears drowned out her few rights. She should've known this was coming, but its nice to believe.
"Do you understand the rights I have just read to you?"
She nodded vacantly and walked like a deadman to the patrol car.
Lights flashed in her face- news reporters. She was an example now. A means of deterrance.
She knows that she won't survive her trial.
[[TO FAIL AND PERPETUATE IGNORANCE IS WORSE THAN TO NOT TRY AT ALL.->birth]]Double-click this passage to edit it.Getting into the Crimson House is fairly easy without a cloak. Just pose as a visitor and have a little rat smuggle your cloak in. Easy.
What's not easy is getting into the Pentagon- which is why Sylvia couldn't be bothered to pay them a visit.
She picked up her cloak from her mouse and hid in the kitchen until the last tour had left and the President was confirmed to have returned.
Slipping on the coat, she snuck into the Executive Office of the President, which was wide open for some reason. It was closed after she got in. How convienient.
She slipped a small bag out of her pocket and muttered a spell almost inaudibly, drawing a sigil in sand in the center of the office. By the time anyone realized what was happening, their own respective perception of time paused. It was as if they were momentarily snapped out of existence but time is still going on. Sylvia pricked Yokai's thumb and wiped his blood on her forehead, chanting an incantation that would allow her to assume his physical likeness.
[[Take the nuclear football from the carrier.->football]]Swiping the briefcase from the carrier, Sylvia put in for and confirmed all nuclear missles be sent to all Plant Corp's firms and its headquarters; even the ones located in other countries.
Once this was done, all she had to do was wait- and it didn't take very long. Nuclear fallout befell half of the globe in a matter of minutes.
She left, knowing the spell would only last another couple of minutes or so. It only took an hour since the event for an uprising to happen- Down With Yokai. He, and many top serving members of the government, were publicly executed in a matter of days.
Sylvia was one of the leaders in the movement against the President and lead the GREEN TRIALS against him and his administration.
"This is for you mom... dad." She whispered to the ash filled sky as she kicked the stool beneath Yokai's feet. His neck broke on impact.
"This... is for you."
